Robert Asmah is the founding Director and Lead ISO Auditor at DaySpring ISO Standards & Certification Consult. His career began in materials science and reliability engineering, where the daily discipline is connecting observed behaviour back to root cause through structured investigation, traceable measurement, and verifiable documentation.

That foundation translates directly into ISO consulting practice. A management system is, ultimately, an engineered control loop: define the requirement, run the process, measure the outcome, act on the deviation. Robert applies the same standards of evidence and traceability to client engagements that he learned in industrial materials and reliability work.

Approach

• Walk the operation before recommending changes — every consulting cycle starts on the shop floor, in the laboratory, or at the service delivery point.
• Document only what gets used — bloated manuals fail surveillance audits as often as they fail certification.
• Train internal auditors as the long-term carrier of the system; the consultant must eventually leave.
• Treat nonconformities as engineering data — classify, find root cause, verify the corrective action prevents recurrence.
